About the Westgrove Dog Park
Westgrove Park, located at 6801 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria, is owned and operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority and is open to the public daily from dawn until dusk. The main feature of the park is the Off-Leash Dog Area (OLDA).
Westgrove is a public/private partnership between Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) and Westgrove P.A.C.K. Although FCPA owns the park and makes the rules for its use, maintenance and improvements are privately funded by the users of the park through Westgrove P.A.C.K.
While leashed dogs are welcome to use all parts of the park, dogs can run free inside the OLDA, subject to the posted rules. The north end of the OLDA is open year-round. The south end opens and closes depending on turf conditions.

Park Closure PolicyWe maintain a turf surface in the south end of the Westgrove Park Off-Leash Dog Area. Weather conditions or turf maintenance sometimes require closure of that area. Closures due to weather conditions or maintenance closures will be announced here and posted in advance in the Park kiosk when possible. In the event that an unannounced closure is necessary, please follow the sign on the park gate.
