Announcements
Fairfax County Park Authority has begun work on the drainage improvements in the north (small) end of the park. To ensure the safety of dogs and workers, that end will be closed while the work is going on. For more information on drainage improvements, click here.

Board members Anne Street (Vice Chair), Megan Kesling (At Large), and Liz Yap (At Large) were re-elected at the October General Meeting. The positions of Operations Director, Membership and Fundraising Director, and one At Large position are currently vacant. Anyone interested in more information about those positions should contact westgrovepack@gmail.com.
The Treasurer's Report discussed at the October General Meeting can be accessed here. If you have any questions, contact westgrovepack@gmail.com.

Patrons of the park are reminded that Fairfax County Park Authority has established rules for county dog parks (click here for a complete list). The most common complaints involve: 1) Not picking up dog poop (click here for more info),
2) Bringing more than two dogs into the park at a time (dogs must be adequately supervised), and 3) Bringing children under the age of nine inside the dog area (which is potentially dangerous for the child).
While Westgrove PACK does not have the legal authority to enforce these rules in specific cases, we do strongly encourage all park users to follow the rules. Complaints about rules violations can be made directly to the Park Authority (click here) and FCPA staff or Fairfax County Police will handle enforcement.
---
New benches have been installed around the trees inside the park. These will provide additional seating as well as protecting the trees from dog urine. As the trees grow, this area will have additional shade. This work was approved by Fairfax County Park Authority, but paid for and installed by Westgrove PACK. Thanks to all our Caretakers for making these improvements possible.
---
The 2019 Fall Festival was a huge success. Thanks to all the volunteers and contributors for your support. Pictures coming soon. For more information, click here.
---
Pavers have been installed under the benches in the south (big) end. This will reduce maintenance requirements and prevent dogs from digging holes under the benches. This work was approved by the Fairfax County Park Authority, and entirely funded by the Caretakers of Westgrove PACK. Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to improve the park.
